I hope everyone enjoyed their Memorial Day and found a way to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our liberty.
Our HVAC went out Friday night before the long holiday weekend. Typical. It just couldn't wait for a normal business day, could it?
The repairman came out yesterday (Tuesday) and the prognosis wasn't good. We've known for a few years now that we were going to have to replace the whole system one day and that day has finally come. Tomorrow (Thursday), workers will be crawling all over our house, in our backyard, and up in the attic, rewiring, installing, and doing whatever else needs to be done to bring our house up to code.
I'm trying to look on the positive side. This could've happened in the middle of a long hot Texas summer instead of a warmish, stormy spring. Ceiling fans are keeping the temperature tolerable while we wait.
Plus, we're finally going to be joining the 21st century! We'll even have a thermostat that can be controlled from a smart phone. I'm not sure how often I'll need to turn the air conditioner up or down from the Walmart parking lot, but at least I'll be able to if I want! 😂
