sandycombsWe just got home from seeing "First Man." I'm sad to report that I cannot recommend this movie. What, exactly, was the director thinking? It was dull and tedious. There wasn't a drop of joy to be found anywhere. I didn't care about any of the characters. The cinematography was terrible. (Think 2+ hours of nothing but close-ups and hand-held camera effects) I fell asleep more than once and I completely stopped watching about 2/3 of the way through. Even my space-loving Hubby agreed with me about the bleakness of the film. The only exciting part was seeing the name of my first cousin, once removed, in the credits as location manager.
Including previews and travel time, I consider it three hours of my life I'll never get back. Unless you are a super space nerd who can't let a single movie about the space race pass you by, you're better off skipping this film.
