In Memoriam
Drove my mother to Lubbock yesterday. 700 miles round trip. Man, I was tired! And I get to do it again next week, probably Monday or Tuesday. She is travelling on today to Alamagordo, New Mexico to attend the funeral for my Uncle Rusty. I'm sad he's gone, but he was in poor health for quite a while, and his passing wasn't unexpected. At age 89, he lived a good, long life.
We'll all miss you Uncle Rusty. You never said a harsh or unkind word to anyone your entire life. You were quick to tease and loved music, your family, and your church. The world is a sadder place without you in it.

Uncle Rusty looked like a movie star.
*hugs you tight*

He was very handsome, wasn't he? And tall! He was the tallest person in our entire family.

Oh, 700 miles is nothing to a seasoned Texas driver. I got a postcard once there that said, “The sun is riz, the sun is set, and here I is in Texas yet.”

Thank you. He was very dear to us all.
