NO SPOILERS!

We went to see Coco this morning. I planned on waiting until it was available for rent, but Hubby heard good things and wanted to see it in the theater.

I'm not really sure what I was expecting, but once again Pixar has delivered a stunningly beautiful movie. The first half of the story seemed to drag, but the last half was well worth the price of admission. I was on the edge of my seat, mentally urging the characters to hurry! You will also want to have a supply of tissues on hand for the powerful ending. Even my uber-macho Hubby admitted to tearing up a little.

My biggest complaint is with Disney. Sadly Coco is the first Pixar movie to be released without a Pixar short at the beginning. Instead, Disney included an interminable "short" centering mostly on Olaf from Frozen. When it finally came to an end, Hubby leaned over and asked "Aren't shorts supposed to be... well, short?" Personally, I feel cheated. What's a Pixar movie without a Pixar short? And, apparently I'm not the only one. There are rumors Disney is receiving a lot of backlash for the Frozen short and is considering pulling it from theaters. If only we had waited a week or so before going. That's 30 minutes of our lives we'll never get back.

All in all, it was an enjoyable experience. Pixar has proven once again they simply don't know how to make a bad picture. ★★★★★
